A.S.R.T. signed a cooperation protocol with the Sports High School (Sf. Pant.), one of Romania’s long-established schools.
The long friendship between Romania and Turkey grows through a new cooperation in sport and education. A.S.R.T. signed a cooperation protocol with the Sports High School (Sf. Pant.), one of Romania’s long-established educational institutions.
It was signed by Necati Alçık, General President of A.S.R.T., and Florin Chergiu, headmaster, on behalf of the school. The protocol will run between the two countries.
Serpil Murtezaoğlu, Turkey’s Education Counsellor in Bucharest, said at the ceremony: “This cooperation is a genuinely meaningful and valuable step. UYAFA and A.S.R.T. signing such a project between Turkey and Romania will strengthen the ties between the two countries in sport and education. I also believe that pairing a school from Turkey with Sf. Pant. Sports High School under the Ministry of National Education’s Sister School Project will build a cultural and sporting bridge between young people.”
Florin Chergiu welcomed the cooperation: “Our doors are open to children in Sector 2 of Bucharest, where most Turks live. These partnerships will grow our young people’s friendships and their achievements.” He recalled that the school founded Luceafărul, the youth football team of Romania’s only federation-affiliated sports club, in 1978, and said they want to carry that inheritance further.
The Sports High School (Sf. Pant.) is known for training athletes recognised worldwide, among them Gheorghe Hagi, Cosmin Contra and Gabi Balint.
